A great track called for great classes like the Southwest Super Late Models, USRA Street Stocks, USRA Modifieds, Hornets, and the Mini Sprints.
"It was a quick easy one" said Saul Delgado. The Hornet race was quick as Benny Pena would lead with Saul Delgado following and closing the straightaway lead that Benny Pena had on Saul Delgado! Saul Delgado would get around on the bottom with two laps to go, and would win on his first appearance at the El Paso Speedway Park!
The Slime Mini Sprints was a Jerrad Warhurst, v.s Jett Carney show all night long. In the Main Kyle Mc Cutcheon would lead by a straightaway until he broke and pulled in. Jerrad Warhurst would take charge, and Jett Carney way back in second. Well that "Way back" turned into a road trip for Jett Carney as he would catch Jerrad Warhurst to pass and win his second race at El Paso this year!!
The Modified main was a good one, as we almost saw a new face in victory lane tonight. Rocko Gallardo would lead almost from flag to flag with Royal Jones following, and Fito Gallardo in third. A late Caution would fly for Dana Fite stopping in turn four after getting back onto the racing surface. That would allow Fito Gallardo to get around Rocko on the restart. Rocko Gallardo wouldn't give up though. The brothers would go side by side for the lead and make contact in turn four as Rocko JUST SLAMMED FITO!! Both drivers would manage to keep it straight and Fito Gallardo was the winner in the Modifieds!
In the USRA Street Stocks Gill Almanza would step up his game to give Justin Lasiter and Jon McDaniel a run for their money. Almanza would settle with a podium finish, Jon Mcdaniel would hold of Justin Lasiter to add another win to the collection. Jon McDaniel is moving up in USRA National Points.
A great night for Late Model racing, as it was the first Southwest Super Late Model race presented by Indy Screen Print! Ricky Thornton Jr would start next to Mercedes Abercrombie in the first row. Ricky Thornton Jr would take off with Mercedes Abercrombie trying to make it a side by side battle and get the clean air by steeling the lead. Ricky Thornton Jr would just run away, later Mercedes Abercrombie would hit Sherman Barnett in turn one after she was racing hard for second. Mercedes, and Sherman would go to the back. On the restart Ricky Thornton Jr lapped up to seventh, and would just wax your field! The Chandler, Arizona racer dominates once again, and picks up his 20th win at El Paso!
